Did you know that the foot has 26 bones which make up one quarter of the bones in your body? The foot is a complex structure that takes a lot of wear and tear as we age. When running the force is three times your body weight on your foot. Therefore, it is only natural that our feet elongate and spread as we age. Here at New Balance Delaware, DC and Tysons Corner we understand how important is to get a proper fit and that is why we will offer to measure your feet every time you visit one of our store locations. We know that not only is it important that you get the right size, but also the correct shoe for your specific activities. At our four store locations you will find that we stock women's shoes from size 5 to 13 and widths from 2A to 4E. Men's we stock from size 7 to 16 and widths from 2A to 6E. Our kid’s shoes are available in infant sizes from 2 to 10 in Medium, Wide and Extra wide widths. Preschool and Grade-school sizes run from 10.5 to 7.0 in narrow, medium, wide, and extra wide widths. Remember not all feet are alike, so multiple sizes and widths are designed for those hard to fit feet. New Balance also uses multiple lasts. What is a last? (The molding of the foot used to build a shoe). New Balance offers several different lasts to accommodate those hard to fit feet. For someone with narrow feet you might want to try our SL-1 or PL-1 last. For someone that has a wide forefoot and narrow heel you will want to try our SL-2 last. The SL-2 last is a shoe that has a wide and deep toe box, a high instep, and a narrow heel. Basically this type of fit is very accommodating and provides more internal volume in the shoe. For anyone that has a very difficult foot to fit, please feel free to ask for one of our Procare Fit Specialists! |
