The Back Story
NB Retail Management, Inc. is headed by CEO and majority owner, John Strojny. Strojny sparked his passion
for the athletic footwear business as a cross country and track star at the University of Delaware.
He leads a team of inspired footwear professionals to provide their unique level of footwear knowledge,
expertise and customer service. His stores are staffed with runners, athletes, PROCARE foot-fit specialists,
and Certified Pedorthists. The staff has first hand knowledge, training and passion for Foot-Fit Excellence
that provides for a unique customer experience. Each store has a Certified Pedorthist
or Pedorthist in training on staff working with area podiatrists, physicians and physical therapists, our largest source
of referrals and repeat business.
After almost 2 decades of operating The Athlete’s Foot stores, John was approached to open one of the
first New Balance Stores. Since opening his first store, Strojny’s business has grown to encompass the
states of Delaware, Washington DC and Virginia. Future plans include additional stores in
each of those markets along with an even higher level of service and selection and customer experience.

support many community events throughout the year to promote running, healthful active lifestyles and wellness.
Our involvement is extensive, embracing activities ranging from foot-fitness and wellness clinics, to race
sponsorships, coaching, leading weekly runs and walks, financial donations, and supporting local charities.
